Brow Lamination + Tinting: What Each One Does
Two different services that get talked about like one thing. Here's what each actually changes, and why they pair so well.
Two different jobs
Lamination changes the shape of your brows. Tinting changes their color. Neither one does the other's job, which is exactly why they're so often booked together, one visit solves both.
Brow Lamination
Brow hairs are brushed into a fuller, more uniform shape, then a lifting solution followed by a setting solution holds that shape in place as the hairs grow. The result is a brushed-up, fluffy look that holds for weeks, no daily gel or brushing required. It's the service for unruly, sparse-looking, or downward-growing brow hair.
Brow Tinting
A semi-permanent, plant-derived dye deepens the color of the brow hairs (and lightly tints the skin beneath for a few days). It's the service for brows that are naturally light, thin-looking, or just want more definition without a daily brow pencil.
Why they're often booked together
Shape alone can leave light-colored brows still reading as sparse. Color alone can't fix hairs that grow in every direction. Together, lamination gives the brow its shape and tinting gives it depth, which is why the combination reads as a noticeably fuller, more "done" brow rather than either service alone.
That's why brow tinting is offered as an add-on to your Brow Lamination visit, both done back-to-back in the same appointment instead of two separate trips in.
Which one should you book first?
- If your brows are the right shape but look too light or sparse, start with tinting.
- If your brow color is fine but the hairs won't sit where you brush them, start with lamination.
- If both are true, book them together, or in either order across two visits, there's no wrong sequence.
Both services are individually priced on the site too, if you'd rather book just one: Brow Lamination or Brow Tinting.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need both brow lamination and tinting?
No, they solve different things and work fine on their own. Lamination is for shape, tinting is for color. Many clients get both in the same visit for the fullest look, but either works alone.
Which should I book first, lamination or tinting?
If doing both in one visit, tinting is usually done first, then lamination sets the shape on top. Booking either as a standalone service, start with whichever problem bothers you more, sparse color or unruly shape.
How long do the results last?
Lamination commonly holds for 6 to 8 weeks. Tint on the hairs themselves commonly lasts 4 to 6 weeks, with the subtle tint on skin fading sooner.
Will lamination or tinting damage my brows?
Both are considered gentle services when aftercare is followed. Let me know about any sensitivities on your consent form, and ask about a patch test ahead of your appointment if you'd like one.
